Nuage Blanc (French for “White Cloud”), with its velvety creamy flavour, is the ultimate of the soft cheese varieties. As the name suggests, it is pure indulgence. It belongs to the white soft cheese family and it combines the creaminess of Camembert with the freshness of a Brie. When fresh, it has a slightly chalky texture, resembles fresh cheese and is a favourite with people of all ages.
Maturing suits this cheese well, as it becomes more smooth and creamier with age to the point where it can develop a bluey undertone. Nuage Blanc is very versatile and can be paired with different fruit, i.e. raspberries or try with figs and drizzled honey, various nuts or fruit paste.
This cheese loves the gentle flavour of a Rosé, but it goes well with any other wine.
